April is the youngest Gray sibling born approxiamately thirteen months after Marc. Blessed with the only common name she became the envy of all her siblings, which gave her a lot of confidence as she matured, and she atured quickly. By her freshman year of high school, she was easily one of the most sought after girls in school, and as such, she managed to steal the attention of the object of February's lust, Rick Ferris, a friend of January's then boyfriend, Darren "Deke" Cross. Naive about contraceptions, April didn't take the proper precautious with Rick, and ended up giving birth to a child by the end of her freshman year of high school. Struggling to figure out the best way to raise her child, she received support from her siblings, particularly Marc, taking a year out of his education to help April. Not wanting Marc to throw his life away for her sake, she pushed him to enroll in college while she attempted to find a suitable father for May eventually settling on Rick himself, as he already felt guilty about leaving April to raise May on her own and he was still very much attracted to her. In spite of the hardships April has brought upon herself, April remains immature and irresponsible, expecting that she deserves more than anyone else.
