January Gray January is the oldest Gray sister, born thirteen and a half months ahead of February on January 1, 1984, the second child of the New Year Central Standard Time. Her parents gave her the name January in celebration of her birth date/time unaware that another child had beaten her out of the womb (the first of many failings), and in keeping with tradition, her other siblings followed suit with the namings until her parents realized that they didn't want more than four children. Always second best, January has struggled for perfection in all aspects of her life, remaining overly proper in her grammar and most mannerisms. She is so in love with the illusion of being happy and successful, she often neglects her own desires, having destroyed two relationships and in a little bit of denial over her own homosexuality as a result. She is also prone to a rather quick temper. Assuming a parental role in her family, she has distanced herself from all of her siblings, and is somewhat jealous of their relationships as a result. Above all else she wants to maintain the illusion of success, but since being valedictorian in high school, most of her attempts to get ahead have been thwarted by poor people skills. After briefly living alone in Los Angeles after graduating from college, she eventually moved in with February following one of February's failed suicide attempts. She currently dates Victoria.
